You will have the chance to chat to Mandoza within our new Dynamic Zones (through Tradepost on the MXit application).

This is MXit’s first Celebrity Chat Weekend which gives young people all over South Africa a chance to chat to their favourite stars, a chance that many teens only dream of, especially those living in remote areas. Aside from the fun, MXit will be involving local celebrities to reinforce the message of being safe and responsible online.

“I love using new technology, it’s how music spreads, it’s how I can reach out to more and more people. MXit is a cheap, easy way to chat to friends, or make new friends. People need to learn that they must be careful, and stay safe when online,” says Mandoza.

Buy MXit Moola from any Sim

People ask how do you buy moola for a number that you are using for MXit, if you don’t have that number’s actual simcard?

Well now you can!

Insert ANY SIM card into your phone and buy Moola via Tradepost and the Moola will still be allocated to the current MXit Profile loaded onto the phone.

So, if you are using MXit on your phone, and the number that is registered on your MXit profile (see Menu->Settings->Profile: Cell number:) is not the same as the SIM card/phone number that the phone is using, you can Buy Moola via Tradepost!

Note:
Tradepost is a contact on MXit that you can talk to to buy services and stuff.

Advanced:
How does it work? The number in your MXit profile is sent with the SMS somehow when you use Tradepost*, and then the Moola is added to the number in the SMS instead of the number the SMS comes from.

MXit or Java on Samsung BlackJack i600 or Windows Mobile Pocket PC

The Samsung BlackJack doesn’t come with Java (J2ME/JME/MIDP/JAR/JAD) installed on it. So you can’t just download MXit or Opera Mini or any other Java apps to a Samsung i600.

Samsung BlackJack i600 Windows Mobile

But there is a way around.
You first need to install a Java MIDP emulator on your Samsung BlackJack device; usually called the JVM. Then you will be able to download any Java JAR/JAD program from your phone’s internet browser. After you have a Java Emulator for your Windows Mobile device, you can go to the mxit wap site www.mxit.co.za/wap and download the Samsung -> “Other” version. It will now work.

Here are the details
